DROUIS 'D.J.' FANGUY SR.

September 20, 1931-July 22, 2015
Drouis “D.J.” Fanguy Sr., 83, a native of Little Calliou and resident of Patterson, was received into God’s loving arms on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. D.J. was retired from Mobil Oil Company and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier “U.S.S. Boxer”. He was also a member of the East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad, V.F.W. Post 4222, and American Legion Post 242.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Grace Lewis Fanguy; son, Drouis Fanguy Jr. & wife Leslie; daughters, Brenda Fanguy Guidry, Debora Fanguy-Pollock, and Chris Mooney AuCoin.
Grandchildren, Paul Guidry III & wife Dorcia, John Drouis Guidry, Jody Guidry Aucoin & husband Patrick, Jeremy Pollock, Sara Pollock, Michael “Pete” AuCoin & wife Trish, and Christopher Ryan AuCoin & wife Miranda.
Great-grandchildren, Paul Guidry IV, Cameron Guidry, Jace Guidry, Kade Guidry, Hanna Grace Aucoin, Ariel Kai Pollock, Jeremy Scott Pollock, Azriel Clelie Richoux, Julia Caroline Armindarez, Kendra Michelle AuCoin, Gabriel Lewis AuCoin, Elijah Thomas AuCoin, Mason Taylor AuCoin, Claudia Renae AuCoin, Collin Spencer AuCoin, Madison Rae AuCoin, and Anna Lee AuCoin.

D.J. was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Lois Himel Fanguy; parents, Moise Edmond Fanguy and Mary Flavia Arcement Fanguy; three sisters, baby girl Lois Fanguy, Bertille Burgess, and Earline Mire; one brother, Malcolm “Bill” Fanguy; and a son-in-law, Paul Perles Guidry Jr.
The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, July 24, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Hargrave from 8 a.m. until time of dismissal. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. D.J. will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum with Military Honors being rendered by the East. St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad.
