DUDLEY JOSEPH LOGERMAN
The Life of Dudley Joseph Logerman will be celebrated on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 11 a.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton. He will be buried in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ulysses Mitchell will officiate the service.

Dudley Joseph Logerman was born to the late Joseph Logerman and Marjorie Shields Logerman on May 16, 1935 in Louisa, LA and later moved to Houston, TX for a period of time.
On August 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Thelma Ward and to this union God blessed them with two children.
Dudley loved all of his family and friends; he enjoyed cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. His favorite response to someone asking him how he was doing was, “Fine and dandy just like chewing gum, popcorn and candy.”
Dudley accepted Christ and was baptized into the faith at Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of The Rev. Ulysses Mitchell. He attended church services regularly until his health began to fail.
Dudley worked as a welder and ship fitter at Service Marine Industries until the yard closed in 1997.
Upon retiring in 1997 he proudly proclaimed, “I found the gun to kill work!”
Dudley departed his earthly life on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 6:26 p.m., at his home surrounded by his family.
Dudley leaves with cherished memories his wife of 55 years, Thelma Logerman; two children, Tyrone Joseph Logerman (Amanda) of St. Martinsville and Yvonne Marie Logerman of Jackson (Michael) of Houston, TX; two grandsons, Traven Logerman of London, England and Chandler Orphan of St Martinsville; one great granddaughter, Allison Orphan of St Martinsville; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Ward Jr. (Emily) of Jeanerette and Wilbert Ward (Catherine) of Houston, TX; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Watts of Houston, TX and Carolyn Ward of Donaldsonville; three uncles, Frank Logerman Sr., Harold Logerman Sr. and Charles Logerman, all of Baldwin; and one godchild, Linda Ward of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Oar Mae Prince. You may sign the guestbook online at www.mkdixonfh.com.
