Edna Fangue Michel

Edna Fangue Michel, 84, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.
Edna was born on Nov. 25, 1928, in Morgan City, the daughter of Paul Fangue and Clemence Grow Fangue.
Edna was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and also the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the St. Mary Parish AARP.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by five children, Paul Michel and wife, Melina, of Belle River, Jimmy Michel and wife, Jessica, of Belle River, Chris Michel and wife, Nelwyn, of Dayton, Ohio, Raymond Michel and wife, Sherie, of Morgan City, and Maria Fabre and husband, Irwin, of Berwick; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Edna is also survived by one sister, Dianne Gorsha and husband, Roger, of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Michel, MSC, of Opelousas; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd “Nookie” Michel; three brothers, Delward, Adam and Raymond Fangue; and one sister, Dorothy Rochel. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Holy Cross Church with the Rev. Danny Poche officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until Mass time on Monday at Holy Cross. Interment will follow Mass in the Morgan City Cemetery. 
Pallbearers will be Cory Leonard, Jean Paul Michel, Brad Michel, Jacques Michel, Beau Michel, Trevor Michel, Joseph Michel and Joshua Fabre. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Church or Central Catholic High School in Ms. Edna’s name.
