Emily C. Thibodeaux

October 14, 1932 — September 11, 2014
Emily C. Thibodeaux, 81, a native of Four Mile Bayou and a resident of Bayou L’Ourse for 40 years, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Emily leaves to cherish her memory her spouse of 55 years, Rodnis “Thib” Thibodeaux; her daughters, Connie Marie Favereau and Patricia “Pat” Lodrigue and her husband, Claude; two sisters, Carrie Lange and Julie Paray; three brothers-in-law, V.A. “Chip” Overbay, Rodney Thibodeaux and Clyde Brown; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Paray, Lela Paray and Judy Moffett; four grandchildren, Claude Lodrigue Jr., Jeremy Lodrigue, David Sawyer and Timothy Meredith; and seven great-grandchildren, Coby Lodrigue, Dustin Lodrigue, Jace Lodrigue, David Sawyer, Kevin Sawyer and Eric Songe.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wilbert Fryou; her father, Charles Paray; her mother, Alice Paray; three brothers, Harry Paray, Bill Paray and Lennis Paray; two sisters, Martha Overbay and Alice Paray; and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Brown.
Emily was a loving woman who adored her family and cherished her grandchildren. Fondly referred to by her husband as “The Boss,” it was well known that Emily was an iron-willed woman who had a heart of gold.
The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Emily will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Carla Thurston, M.D., for her compassion and dedicated care of Emily during her illness and to the Teche Regional Medical Center Emergency Room staff for their assistance. A special thank you to Christina at the E.R. for her diligence.
