GREGORY 'GREG' ROBERT O'NEILL

Gregory “Greg” Robert O’Neill, 70, of Morgan City, passed away Saturday evening Aug. 20, 2016, at Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner.
Greg was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 28, 1946. Being the son of a father who was in the United States Air Force, he was raised on SAC bases around the world. He loved his son Colin, cars, playing blues music, and guitars. He worked in the oilfield as a welding inspector for many years.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his lifelong friend, William “Bill” Dettleff of Fenton, Missouri; as well as his friend and former spouse, Melanie O’Neill of Kenner.
Greg was preceded in death by his son, Colin Shea O’Neill; his parents, Lucille Austermann O’Neill and Gerald Robert O’Neill; and his grandmother, Betty Wolfe.
Greg was also fortunate to have wonderful neighbors who provided much assistance to him over the years.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Twin City Funeral Home, with a memorial visitation being held from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be given in Greg’s name to The Pharr Chapel, Music Studio, 517 Federal Ave., Morgan City, LA 70380, in honor of his love of music.
