December 28, 1923 — January 19, 2015
Herman J. Domangue, 91, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, in Broussard, surrounded by his loving family.
Herman was a World War II veteran who served his country with pride in the United States Navy. After the war, he spent his life on the water as a commercial fisherman, worked in the oilfield industry and was a wonderful and loving husband and father to his family. Herman enjoyed cooking and being outdoors as much as possible, especially if it meant passing a good time with his family and friends. Herman was also a devoted Christian and member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Herman is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Keller Domangue, of Morgan City; four daughters, Nancy Bernard and Shane of Broussard, Linda Stephens, of Morgan City, Cheryl Pennison and Glenn, of Morgan City, and Karen Vansuffelen and Rick, of Carencro; 13 grandchildren, Angela, Bubba, Chad, Timmy, Kam, Shawn, Anna, Jodie, Jeff, Jamie, Jennie, Joey and David; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stephen Domangue Jr. and wife, Liz, and Richard Domangue and wife, Connie; three sisters, Olive Hebert, Dorothy Boudreaux and Doris Duhon; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Maggie Domangue Sr.; one son, Michael Domangue; one son-in-law, Charlie Stephens; two brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held at Twin City Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, beginning at 9 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Herman will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the service, with full military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
