Hilda Thibodeaux Richard

RAYNE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Hilda Thibodeaux Richard, 85, of Rayne, was celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne. The Rev. Kendal Faulk served as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery 2 in Rayne. 

Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, from 4:30 to 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home. Visitation continued Saturday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Richard passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in a Rayne care facility.

A longtime resident of Rayne, Mrs. Richard was also a 20 year resident of Franklin. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, and she served as a member of the Ladies’ Altar Society.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Richard Fusilier and husband, Roger, of Rayne; sons, Karl Richard and Ralph Breaux of Rayne; sisters, Ruby Gilliland of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mary Lou Bertrand of Florida; her grandchildren, Jeremy Abshire and wife, Shantel, of Rayne, and Kaisha Trahan of Rayne; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Cohen Abshire of Rayne; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Richard in death were her parents, Sidney and Rose Richard Thibodeaux; her husband, Ernest Richard; a son, Curtis Joseph Breaux Jr.; her sister, Hazel Breaux; and her brothers, Gus Thibodeaux, Ashton Thibodeaux, Gabriel Thibodeaux and Larry Thibodeaux.
