Inez Marie Pennison Stansbury

February 19, 1918 — January 16, 2015
Inez Marie Pennison Stansbury was born in Bayou Boeuf on Feb. 19, 1918, to the late Rene’ and Justilia Simoneaux Pennison. A longtime resident of Morgan City, Inez passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, in the Patterson nursing home at the age of 96.
Inez enjoyed sewing and loved history and genealogy. She is a descendant of the Pennison, Morrison and Simoneaux families. She was an original member of the Pink Ladies of Lakewood Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of The United Daughter of the Confederacy, a Heraldry organization. Inez will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved this wonderful lady.
Inez leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son, Roland R. Stansbury, of Morgan City; a grandson, Roland R. Stansbury Jr. and wife, Spring Elizabeth, of New Iberia; and great-grandchildren, Roland R. Stansbury III and Heather Jeannette Stansbury.
Inez is preceded in death by her husband, Roland H. Stansbury; parents, Rene’ and Justilia Simoneaux Pennison; brother, Walter G. Pennison; and sister-in-law, Agnes Pennison and Stanley Joseph Pennison.
Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Visitation continued today, Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until funeral services at 10 a.m. Inez will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
