Irma Champagne Rodriguez

Funeral services for Irma Champagne Rodriguez will be held Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin at 1 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial. Readers for the Mass will be Barbara Louviere, Jeanne Herry and Meagan Bourque. Altar servers will be Perry Lowery, Brennan Louviere and Taylor Louviere. Gift bearers will be Emma Louviere, Eloise Bourque, Rebekah Fuhrer and Alline Crappell. The Rev. Lloyd Benoit will be the celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 8:30 a.m. until the time of dismissal at 12:30 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 10 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Fuhrer, Gerald Louviere, David Herry, Brian Herry, Patrick Herry and Rickey P. Bourque. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Michael Rodriguez, James Fuhrer, Spencer Fuhrer, Mason Bourque, Tate Bourque, Donnie Bourque, Billy Pontiff, Donovan Pontiff, Buzz Delaune and Ronald Rodriguez.
Mrs. Irma, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Franklin Foundation Hospital surrounded by family. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption, the Ladies Altar Society, as well as the American Legion Post 63 Auxiliary.
Survivors include three children, Antoinette R. Louviere, Michael K. Rodriguez and his wife, Dot, and Irma Nell R. Bourque and her husband, Donnie; four grandchildren, Cathy Fuhrer, Gerald Louviere and his wife, Barbara Broussard Louviere, Jeanne Louviere Herry and her husband, David, and Rickey P. Bourque and his wife, Meagan Landry Bourque; 10 great-grandchildren, Tony Fuhrer and his wife, Mary Alice LaRocca Fuhrer, Rebekah Fuhrer, Brennan, Taylor and Emma Louviere, Brian and Patrick Herry, and Mason, Tate and Eloise Bourque; and three great-great-grandchildren, Alline Crappell, and James and Spencer Fuhrer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Joseph Rodriguez; her parents, Samuel Joseph Champagne and Annette Aucoin Champagne; six siblings, Noah and Claude Champagne, Emalie C. Hamm, Rena C. Pontiff, Celina C. Brown and Marguerite Champagne (infant); her parents-in-law, Inez and Oday Rodriguez Sr.; one son-in-law, Henry G. Louviere; and one grandson-in-law, James Fuhrer.
