James “Jimmy” Herverd Martin

December 22, 1947 — October 8, 2013

James “Jimmy” Herverd Martin, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Houston, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. 

Jimmy is survived by his father, Herverd James Martin; his mother, Julie Marie Walden; a son, Brian James Martin and his wife, Andrea; a brother, Reid Martin and his wife, Eileen; a sister, Suzanne Evans and her husband, Larry; two granddaughters who Jimmy loved with his whole heart, Abbigale Kathleen Martin and Ava Faye Martin; and his beloved pet, Bella. Jimmy is also survived by three nieces and nephews and three grandnieces and three grandnephews. 

The family requests that a time of reflection and remembrance for Jimmy be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, from 9 a.m. until the time of memorial services at 11 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. A rendering of military honors will immediately follow the memorial service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent in Jimmy’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Foundations or the American Cancer Society.
