James J. Costa Jr.

July 15, 1931 — December 19, 2014
Funeral services celebrating the life of James J. Costa Jr. were held at noon today, Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson, with a gathering of family and friend beginning at 9 a.m. He was laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Patterson. Serving as pallbearers were Gino Barletta, Joseph Barletta Jr., Ethan Broussard, Eric Broussard, Terry Holcombe, and Terrence Holcombe Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Terrie Lynn Costa Cuevas and Carla Ann Costa Kessling; one stepson, Terry Holcombe; one daughter-in-law, Susan Costa; one brother, Patrick Costa; his former wife, Anna Lee Costa; as well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Costa Sr. and Jenny Guzzetta Costa; one son, Antonio “Chris” Costa; granddaughter, Jessica Elaine Broussard; his first wife and mother of his three children, Juanita Henry Costa; and his second wife, Fern Costa.
James was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Morgan City, who went home to his eternal reward on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Our precious De-De, you can now walk without pain on the golden streets of Heaven. Rest in Peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
