Jimmie Adam Verrett Sr.

Jimmie Adam Verrett Sr., 69, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at his residence.
Jimmie was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family. He was retired with McDermott for over 32 years and spent the last six years working for the City of Morgan City. He was an avid fisherman and a very loyal friend to the end. He will be missed dearly both by his family and friends.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Lynn Verrett; two sons, Jimmy Verrett Jr. and wife, Tracey, of Los Angeles, and Corey Verrett, of Opelousas; one granddaughter, Taylor Verrett, of Lafayette; one brother, Billy Verrett and wife, Joan, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Marjorie Barker, of Lockport, and Rosalie Hardy, of Casper, Wyoming; two brothers-in-law, John Simoneaux and wife, Gayle, of Pineville, and Lennis Simoneaux and wife, Julie, of Morgan City; one sister-in-law, Kay Hayes, of Woodland Park, Colorado; along with a host of nieces, nephews and a various amount of very dear friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mildred Verrett Sr.
Memorial visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, beginning at 8 a.m. until time of the Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Jimmie will be interred at a later date.
