JOHN BURRELL

John Burrell, 73, a native of Katy Plantation and a resident of Franklin, died Monday, September 29, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center at 6:48 a.m.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 11 at the Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin, from 10 a.m. until funeral services, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Willie Jackson will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 53 years, Alva M. Sam-Burrell of Franklin; one son, Marvin Burrell of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Karen) Davis of Franklin and Mrs. Clarence (Alzina) Dural of Lafayette; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. John (Beulas) Thomas of Silver Springs MD, Mrs. Samuel (Ethel) Smith of Vallejo, CA, Marion Burrell of Upper Marlboro, MD and Ruth Tillman of Algiers, La. 13 sisters-in law; six brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
John D. was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers, one sister, his father and mother-in-law, four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
