JOHN D. LAFLEUR JR.

John D. Lafleur Jr., 86, a native of Mamou, a former long-time resident of Bayou Vista and resident of Kirbyville, Texas, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Timberidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jasper, Texas.
The Korean Conflict veteran was a past officer with the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. He was a former member of the East St. Mary Funeral Squad.
He is survived by two sons, Jerral Lafleur and Richard Lafleur, both of Kinder; two daughters, Tammy Perkins of Kirbyville, Texas, and Marylin Pelican of Kinder; two stepdaughters, Diane Miller Fears of Bayou Vista and Judy Miller of Indiana; a stepson, Guy Miller Jr. of Tennessee; a sister, Juanita Mitchell of DeRidder; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Pierce Lafleur; a son, Terrell “Chip” Lafleur; a stepson and his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Shultz Funeral Home and Crematory in Jasper, Texas.
