JOHN HENRY BOWIE, SR.

New Iberia - A Celebration of Life for John Henry Bowie Sr. 74, will be held 12 noon on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church, 321 Center Street, New Iberia, La.

Pastor Allen Randle Sr. will officiate the service.

Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum, New Iberia, La.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. at the church until the commencement of the services.

John was born on November 29, 1941 in rural Iberia Parish, La. to the union of the late Isaac Bowie Sr. and Lessie Fentis Bowie.

John peacefully passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 in Lafayette, L. following a very brief Illness.

John leaves to celebrate his life include his six children, Tina (Wiliam) Marks, Wanda Bowie, Shenika (Paul) Phillips, John (Kedra) Bowie, Jr. and Shellec Joseph, all of New Iberia, La. and Gregory (Kim) Bowie of San Antoino, Texas; his lifelong companion, Doris Lively Bowie of New Iberia, La.; 10 siblings; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
