JOHN RALPH 'JOHNNY' DiMATTEO JR.

April 21, 1954 -February 26, 2017
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of John Ralph “Johnny” DiMatteo Jr., a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a longtime resident of Patterson, who passed away at the age of 62 in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at his home surrounded in love by his family.
Following the Mass, Johnny will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Michael Russo will be the Celebrant for the Mass with Father Herb Bennerfield concelebrating. Serving as pallbearers will be his three sons, Matthew, Brandon and Christopher DiMatteo, as well as Tommy Vaughn, Damien Bonnette and Lee Shilling. Honorary pallbearer will be his brother, Jeffery DiMatteo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m., led by Father Bennerfield. Visitation will resume Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 8 a.m. until Mass time at 10 a.m.
Those Johnny leaves to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 39 years, Terri Shilling DiMatteo; their three sons, Matthew DiMatteo and his wife Leah of Stephensville, Brandon DiMatteo and his wife Melanie of Patterson, and Christopher DiMatteo of Morgan City; his brother, Jeffery DiMatteo and his wife Jennifer; his sister, Jeannie D. Landry and her husband Chris; and his five grandchildren, Aiden, Gavin and Meah DiMatteo, and Trey and C. J. Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Ralph DiMatteo; and mother, Josie Cavallo DiMatteo.
