JOYCE LANDRY LOUPE

June 14, 1930 ~ July 15, 2015
Joyce Landry Loupe passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, the sixtieth birthday of her eldest child, surrounded by her three children. She is survived by her son, Irvin Loupe Jr. and his wife, Carla; her two daughters, Julie Loupe Aucoin and her husband, Mark; and Allison Loupe Osburn.
She is survived by nine grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Bethany Loupe, Catherine Loupe Listi and her husband, Dean; Daisy Broussard, Brittany Richard and her husband, Sean; Shelbi Robichaux and her husband, Brandon; Nicholas and Caroline Osburn and their father, Troy Osburn; as well as five great grandchildren, Abby and Leo Loupe and their mother, Brittany Loupe, Lexie Leah and Lahna Richard. She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Awezec and her husband, John; Judy Landry and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Irvin Loupe Sr.; and her parents, Esther Guarisco and her husband, Jack; and her father, Edwin Landry.
Mrs. Loupe was a graduate of the MCHS class of 1947 and was the co-captain of the MCHS girls basketball team of 1947.
Mrs. Loupe was a graduate of Spencer Business College in 1947 and served briefly in the business department for the City of Morgan City before starting a family.
She enjoyed bowling, became an avid golfer and passed her love of sports on to her children and grandchildren.
After her marriage to Irvin, Mrs. Loupe became one of the last of a generation of homemakers and devoted herself to her husband raising their three children and maintaining a stable home. She will be greatly missed.
A time of visitation will be observed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, July 17, 2015, beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
Bethany Loupe will deliver the Eulogy and Karen Walker will say the prayer of the faithful.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher and Matthew Loupe, Nicholas Osburn, Mark Aucoin, Dean Listi and Gerald Fields.
Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Troy Osburn.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
