Funeral services will be celebrated for Lauren Amaya Blanco during a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. She will be laid to rest in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery in Patterson. The Rev. Herb Bennerfield will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held today, Monday, June 22, 2015, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with reflections by family and close friends at 7 p.m. Visiting hours will resume at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of Mass.
Lauren, a native and resident of Houma, was born on Dec. 8, 1981, to the late Hershel Budd Jr. and Cheryl Blanco Pennison. She passed from this life at the age of 33 on Monday, June 15, 2015, in Houma.
Survivors include her mother, Cheryl Blanco Pennison; her brother, Leo Pennison; maternal grandmother, Irene Blanchard Blanco; paternal grandmother, Sandra Bowden; paternal grandfather, Hershel Budd Sr.; her sisters-in-life, Cristy Ardoin and Gia Smith; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her father, Lauren was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ernest Blanco Sr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Leo Pennison, Ernest J. Blanco, Shaun Authement, Sam Budd, George Catoire Jr., Adam Alleman, Shawn Ardoin, and Brenda Verrett. Honorary pallbearer will be Dorian Womack.
