Linda Lee was a native of Franklin and a longtime resident of Adeline who passed away at the age of 73 on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. She was a devout Catholic, a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Sacré Coeur in Baldwin, and was a Catechism teacher. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Franklin Line Dancers, the Franklin McDonald’s breakfast club, and her local pokeno club. She was the type of person who made friends anywhere she went and put a smile on everyone’s face. Some of her favorite pastimes were traveling, going on cruises, and simply volunteering her time in various ways around the community. But her passion in life was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of nearly 54 years, Gerald P. “Gero” Blanchard; three children, Suzette B. Lancon and her husband Eddie, Lynette Thibodaux and her husband Mitchell, and Patrick Blanchard and his companion Renee; five grandchildren, Adam Gomillion, Megan Thibodaux, Joshua Thibodaux, Jacy Blanchard, and Mazzy Blanchard; one sister-in-law, Suzanne Lucas; one brother-in-law, Warren Blanchard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling Joseph Hebert Sr. and Hazel Bernard Hebert; her daughter-in-law, Cori Blanchard; her parents-in-law, Clyde and Agnes Blanchard; two sisters and their husbands, Alma and Bennett Michel Sr., and Leatrice “Poupee” and Arlen Picard; three brothers and their wives, Sterling Hebert Jr. and Rose Hebert, O.D. Hebert and Winsome Hebert, and Leroy “Bozo” Hebert Sr. and Emilies “Coonie” Hebert; and brother-in-law, Bill Lucas.
