LYMAN BRENT

Lyman Brent, a native of Franklin and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 6:58 a.m., at Ollie Steele Burden Nursing Home.
He was 88 and a retired maintenance supervisor at Southern University, Sgt. at Arms at LA House of Representative and U.S. Army veteran.
Visiting at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 6217 Glen Oaks Dr., Wednesday, July 2, from 9 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Derrick Hills. Interment will follow in the Louisiana National Cemetery.
Mr. Brent is survived by his wife, Hazel T. Brent; daughter, Kimberly Brent Jones; brothers, William Brent Jr. and Nathaniel Brent; and one grandchild, Brent Nicholas Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Brent Sr. and Evelyn Moore Brent; brothers, Calvin and Herman Brent; and sister, Margaret Brent.
He was a member of American Legion Bonnette Harrison Post 502, F & AM Twilight Lodge 166, Men of Distinction and St. Mary UMC Usher Board 1.
