Mother Hilda Mary Hughes Mary Franklin, 99, a resident of Morgan City, La. and native of Patterson, La. passed away on Saturday Nov. 19, 2016 at 9:20 p.m. at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, La..
Viewing will be held on Monday Nov. 28, 2016 at the New Zorah Baptist Church 604 Julia St. Morgan City, La. from 3 p.m. until the beginning of the Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star services at 5 p.m. An Evening Celebration celebrating the life of Mother Hilda H. Franklin will begin at 6 p.m. at the church.
Viewing will resume on Tuesday Nov. 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. until Dismissal Services beginning at 10 a.m. Mother Franklin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City, La. following the dismissal services.
Memories of “Mother Dear,” as she was known to her family, will forever remain in the hearts of her two loving and devoted daughters, Barbara Ann Franklin (Thomas) Henderson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Lois Elaine Franklin Jones of Patterson, La.; one grandson, three granddaughters, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two devoted nieces, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, one brother, and two sisters.
