PAUL AUCOIN JR.
August 29, 1940 - July 23, 2015
Paul Aucoin Jr., a native of Morgan City and resident of Amelia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the age of 74.
Paul was a loving Christian husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a welder-fitter for 46 years. His character and his work ethic was second to none. His love for the outdoors was evident throughout his life as he spent most of his leisure time hunting and fishing. He was also a good athlete and avid sports fan. He was a competitor whether he was playing horseshoes or checkers.
He fought the good fight of faith for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His love for God, God’s word and his church was evident to those who knew him best. His family and friends never had to guess where he stood, but nor did they ever have to wonder whether he loved them unconditionally. He was as tough as nails on the outside, but had a heart of gold on the inside. He genuinely cared about people and took great pride in providing for his family. He lived an honest, simple life — one that we all should strive to live each day.
Every time we see a fish rise out of the water, an animal that will provide a meal for our family or see something beautiful that God has created outdoors, we will think about him and the excitement he felt. We know that he is looking down on us with his huge unforgettable smile, and we hope that everyone if fortunate enough in this world to know someone that touches their life as deeply as he touched his family and friends.
Paul leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Betty F. Aucoin; his children, Pauline Morgan and her husband, Michael, of Houston, Marla Duet and her husband, Chris, of Marietta, Georgia, and Gary Paul Aucoin and wife, Leigh Ann, of Wisner; grandchildren, Kristin Falcon and husband, Joshua, of Labadieville, Christopher Duet and wife, Ashley, of Marietta, Georgia, Savannah Morrison and husband, Jonathan, of Houston, Elizabeth McCloskey and husband, Patrick, of Missoula, Montana, Matthew Paul Aucoin of Wisner, and Sean-Michael Morgan of Houston; great-grandchildren, Charleston Faith Duet, Jonathan Falcon, Jane Falcon, and Abigail Leigh Ann McCloskey on the way; brothers, BJ Rock and wife, Jeanette, of Bayou L`Ourse and Donald Rock of Morgan City; and sister, Brenda Fabre of Texas.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Mae Aucoin Rock; grandparents, Clay Sr. and Edolia Aucoin; stepfather, Pierre Rock Sr.; brothers, Pierre Rock Jr. and Carl Rock; and sister, Rose Ann Freyoux.
