PAULFREY ‘BOOLAY’ JAMES JACKSON
Ashton, LA - Homegoing Services for Paulfrey “Boolay” James Jackson Sr., 79, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ashton. Pastor Ulysses Mitchell will officiate.
Interment will follow in Macedonia Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Paulfrey was born May 2, 1935 in Four Corners, the youngest child born to the union of the late Abel Jackson and Mary Rose Matthews Jackson.
He was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was also a retired employee of Cote Blanche Salt Company.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Smith; his siblings, Thelma Jackson, Mary Bella Jackson, Clementine Jackson, Cleveland Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson, Benjamin Jackson Sr., Abel Jackson Jr., James Jackson Sr., Johnell Jackson Sr. and Clemus Jackson; a granddaughter, Heaven Andrus; and a daughter-in-law, Anfernetta Jackson.
Following a very brief illness, Paulfrey peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Iberia Medical Center with his wife and family by his bedside.
Paulfrey leaves to celebrate his life and cherish wonderful memories with his wife, Leona Wiley- Jackson of Four Corners; six children, Graline Jackson, Gail Andrus, Cheryl Jackson and Wanda Jackson, all of Franklin, Paulfrey Jackson Jr. and Tammy (McClellan) Molo, both of Jeanerette; two step-children, Ray (Joy) Wiley Jr. of Franklin and Melanie (Harold) Marks of New Iberia; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
