PEGGY ANN FONTENOT DEATS

Memorial services for Peggy Ann Fontenot Deats will be held Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Baldwin Church. Bro. Anthony Mula will officiate the services.
Peggy was a native of Ville Platte and a 53 year resident of Franklin who was called home to her heavenly reward on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the age of 77. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A longtime member of the Baldwin Church, Peggy was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all that she had. She was also an animal lover and would often take in stray animals she came across. She worked for nearly 40 years at the Banner-Tribune until recently retiring due to her declining health. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, John Henry Deats; two daughters, Jeanne “Lisa” D. Compton and Sarah D. Sultan and her companion Guy Darden; three grandchildren, Jonah Serna, Shazia Gaudet and her husband Jarred, and Tyler Sultan; five great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jayden, and Jaxxen Gaudet, Tyler Sultan Jr. and Tyson Sultan; one niece, Jessica Fontenot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester J. Fontenot and Wade Breaux Fontenot; and one sister, Mary Arlene Fontenot.
