PHILLIP GABRIEL

Mr. Phillip “Heavy” Gabriel, 43, a resident and native of Sorrell, died Monday October 14, 2013, at 10:43 p.m., at Lafayette General Hospital following a short illness.
He is survived by his fiancee’, Carol Jenkins Means of Jeanerette; one son, Devin Gabriel of New Iberia; and one sister, Phyllis (Brian) Gabriel Smith of Sorrell.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Moses Baptist Church in Sorrell.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. B.K. Stevens and the Rev. Terry Lee Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in the Sorrell Cemetery.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
