RICHARD JAMES 'RICKEY' FRANCIS

July 31, 1947 -July 6, 2015
Richard James “Rickey” Francis, 67, a resident of Berwick, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Rickey was born on July 31, 1947, in Morgan City, the son of Jarield Bernard and Myrtle Oliver Francis.
Rickey enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, as this one of his favorites things to do. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Rickey was a welder and commercial fisherman for many years. He was involved in the seafood business doing everything from commercial harvest to wholesale and retail.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his long-time companion, Mary Riley; two children, Jarield Francis of Katy, Texas, and Brandy Francis Guillory and husband, Arthur, of Pineville; one stepson, J.D. Thomas Jr. of Berwick; four grandchildren, Amber Francis, Alexis Francis, Jon Patrick Francis and Blake Giroir; one brother, Jon Francis and wife, Dianna, of Spring, Texas; one nephew, Sean Michael Francis; and one niece Alison Paige Francis.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, and two grandchildren, Ava and Morgan Guillory.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home with visitation resuming from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Entombment in the Berwick Mausoleum will be held at a later date.
