RICKY JOSEPH FRANKLIN

November 18, 1965- August 6, 2015
Ricky Joseph Franklin, 49, a resident of Berwick, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Ricky was born on Nov. 18, 1965, in Morgan City, the son of D.J. Franklin Sr. and Marie Fontenot Franklin.
Ricky was a man who loved to help people, and would always go out of his way to help them if he needed to. He loved spending time with his family and loved cooking for them; as he was famous for his pot roast and his pineapple upside-down cake.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty J. Franklin of Berwick; one daughter, Rosanna Raymond of Patterson; four grandchildren; four stepchildren, 12 step-grandchildren; one brother, D.J. Franklin Jr. of Patterson; five sisters, Melba Crochet of Napoleonville, Mary Holt of Dequincy, Shirley Wilkie of Welsh, Joyce Jones of Patterson and Lolly Allen of Tennessee.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Suzanne Belanger Franklin; his twin brother, Richard Franklin; and one sister, Cathy McDaniel.
A Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Monsignor J. Douglas Courville officiating. Visitation was held from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home. Following Mass, Ricky was laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
