Funeral services for Sandra Champagne Haydel will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 1 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin. She will be laid to rest in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Ibert’s.
Sandra was a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 10, 2014, in Lafayette at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana at the age of 52. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. She also had a great sense of humor, always trying to make people laugh. Sandra was also a cat-lover, to the point of making sure that others loved and had cats of their own. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include two children, Greg Haydel Jr. and his wife, Kerri, of Kaplan; and Joanie Haydel Luke and her husband, Josh, of Centerville; two grandchildren, Jamisyn Luke of Centerville and Jaxon Haydel of Kaplan; three step grandchildren, Taylor, Reece and Haidyn Luke of Centerville; her mother, Anna Mae Trosclair Champagne of Franklin; five siblings, Cheryl C. Sinnott and her husband, Leo, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;, Darlene C. Denton and her husband, Dale, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; Danny Champagne and his wife, Denette, of Franklin; Angela Champagne of Franklin; and Dwayne Champagne and his companion, Heather, of Franklin; eight nieces and nephews, Heather Landry, Alaina Champagne, Jenny Howe, Rusty and Travis Denton, Broc Buckner, Camen Dooley and Payton Champagne; and her companion, Isaac Theriot of Franklin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Webster Joseph Champagne Jr.; maternal grandparents, Joseph Trosclair and Laurencia Martin Trosclair; and paternal grandparents, Webster J. Champagne Sr. and Aria Aucoin Champagne.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Haydel Jr., Isaac Theriot, Danny Champagne, Dwayne Champagne, Broc Buckner, Leo Sinnott and Dale Denton.
