Sidney J. Landry Jr.

Sidney J. Landry Jr., 88, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Gibson, passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at his residence.
Sidney is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Hazel Alleman Landry, of Gibson; one son, Byron Landry, of Gibson; two daughters: Suzanne “Sue” Landry, of Gibson, and Barbara Malik, of Berwick; eight grandchildren, Jody, Keisha, Allison, Cory, Heather, Joshua, Hope and Jeannine; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ira Landry, of Houston, and Robert Landry, of Berwick; two sisters, Betty Wiltz, of New Iberia, and Judy Landry, of Morgan City; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Lena Meranto Landry Sr.; one daughter, Charlotte Landry James; one brother, William Landry; and one grandson, Kirby Lewis.
Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 5:30 p.m. Visitation resumed today, Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at the funeral home starting at 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Sidney was laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the service.
