ULYSSES MITCHELL SR.

Mr. Ulysses Mitchell Sr., 82, a resident and native of Franklin, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 8:25 p.m., at his residence in Franklin following a short illness.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, December 20, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Otis Mortuary Chapel, 501 Willow St., in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. Sidney Kirk Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, at 1415 Irish Bend Road in Franklin.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Bessie F. Mitchell of Franklin; seven sons, Rev. Ulysses Mitchell Jr. (his wife, Edora), Ronald Lee Mitchell (his wife, Lucille), and Keith Louis Mitchell, all of Franklin, Rev. Anthony Reed Mitchell (his wife, Janice) of Baldwin, Rev. Sidney Kirk Mitchell (his wife, Martha), of New Iberia, Warren Mitchell (his wife, Julia) of Santa Cruz, California, and Burgess Mitchell (his wife, Lindsey) of Nashville, Tennessee; three daughters, Mrs. Sheila Ann Celestine (her husband, Christopher), and Mrs. Monica Rose Levine (her husband, Lester), both of Franklin, and Doctor Tammy Mitchell of Lake Charles; one brother, Rev. John (“Tony”) Charles Mitchell of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Curlee Rankins of Franklin; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
