Victor R. Pratka

Victor R. Pratka, 75, of Freeport, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 24, 2014, with his family by his side.
Vic was born on Nov. 11, 1939, to Victor and Bessie Pratka in Burr, Texas. In 1960, Vic married the love of his life, Melanie Fabre, in Berwick.
Vic was a strong family man who proudly loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild deeply.
Surviving Vic is his wife of 54 years, Melanie Pratka; his son, David (wife, Sharon) Pratka; his daughter, Georgette (husband, Tim) Cates; and his grandchildren, Hannah Pratka, Hailey Pratka, Braden Boudreaux, Addison Boudreaux, Sydney Boudreaux and Griffin Cates. He is also survived by a brother, a sister and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
Vic is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ben Pratka; his in-laws, George and Minerva Fabre; and his daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Randy Neal.
A visitation with friends and family was held today, Monday Dec. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. Vic was laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. following the visitation.
