VICTORIA ‘VICKIE’ LANDRY PARR

Funeral services for Mrs. Victoria “Vickie” Landry Parr will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at the church, from 9 a.m. until time of service. She will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier will be the celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Parr, Jake Parr, Adam Pacetti, Scott Trahan, Tyler Smith, Rodney Pacetti, Michael Trahan and Curtis Smith.
Mrs. Vickie, a native of Patterson and 62 year resident of Baldwin, passed away at the age of 83 on Monday, December 29, 2014, at 4:47 a.m., at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who enjoyed fishing, camping and painting. She was also a woman of determination and even taught herself to play guitar and piano. Two of her greatest qualities were her generosity to others and her devout faith, but her passion in life was most definitely her family, whom she dearly loved.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Roy Edward Parr; four children, Chuck Parr and his wife, Anne Resweber; Pam Parr and her husband, Rodney Pacetti; Bonnie Parr Trahan and her husband, Michael Trahan; and Lori Parr Smith and her husband, Curtis Smith; four siblings, Dorothy Braud and her husband, Gerald; Gerald Landry and his wife, Glenda; Nell Hopkins and Harry Landry and his wife, Leila; 10 grandchildren, Katy Parr Orbeta and her husband Larry; Lisa Parr Cook, Jake Parr and his wife, Jolynn; Amy Parr LeBlanc and her husband, Jake; Adam Pacetti and his wife, Loretta; Emily Pacetti Whitaker and her husband, Matt; Carly Trahan Moss and her husband, Seth; Scott Trahan, Tyler Smith and Micah Smith; 10 great grandchildren, Ian Orbeta, Wayne Lee Parr, Alex and Kyle Siddle, Lela Lacombe, Gabby, Gwen and Cade Pacetti, Emmy and Brayden Moss; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne E. Parr; her parents, Duval and Myrtle Bourgeois Landry; three siblings, Marion King, Roy Landry and Beth Jackson; and one great grandson, Ellis Cook.
