Walter J. Businelle Sr.

Walter J. Businelle Sr., 66, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at his residence.
Walter loved to hunt, fish and cook. He enjoyed being a captain on various tug boats. He was a great father and grandfather.
Survivors include his son, Tobias Businelle of Grand Lake; son-in-law, Pete Mancusco of Westlake; three daughters, Sharon Mancuso of Westlake, Regina Businelle of Bayou Vista and Tamara Businelle of Grand Lake; and the mothers of his children, Bobbie Dupre of Patterson and Connie Businelle of Grand Lake; four sisters, Brenda Comeaux of Houma, Theresa Businelle of Lake Charles, Mabel Businelle of Lake Charles and Dardinella Breaux of Bell City; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Ward Joseph Businelle and Walter Joseph Businelle Jr.; four brothers, Douglas, Jimmy Businelle and Ward Businelle Jr. and Kenneth Welch Sr.; and one sister, Josephine Aucoin.
His funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Park. Alan Daley will be officiating. Visitation was held from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and again Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
