WILBERT NISBY SR.

Wilbert Nisby Sr., 82, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gibson, passed away at 3:58 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at St. James Baptist Church, 6319 S. Bayou Black Drive in Gibson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his loving children, Donna (Gilbert) Washington, Kenneth (Stephanie) Nisby and Michael Nisby; daughter-in-law, Marlene Nisby; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois N. (Ronald) Hall and Herchel (Catherine) Nisby; godchildren, Chris Coleman, Arimenta Rainey, Otis Shelvin, Cassandra Smith, Marquita Turner and Elaine Washington; caregiver, Alma Gray; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Floretta Hanzy Nisby; son, Wilbert Nisby Jr.; grandson, Courtland Washington I; parents, Daniel and Lillian Bowens-Nisby; brothers, Herman Sr., James, Leroy, Lawrence and Raymond Nisby; and sisters, Rose Hall and Evelyn Diggs.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma-Morgan City-Jeanerette-Franklin.
