WILTON VIDOS (UPDATED)

April 23, 1935-February 25, 2017
Wilton Joseph Vidos, 81, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, surrounded by his adoring family.
He was born April 23, 1935, in Berwick, the son of John Joseph Vidos and Elda Rhodes Vidos Reemes.
Wilton was a very hard worker who strived for excellence. He was the owner and operator of Vidos Electrical and Refrigeration of Morgan City. Wilton was always active and found joy in dancing, working in his flower beds, taking trips to the casino, and sometimes camping. He was a devout fan of his favorite teams, the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. His greatest love, however, was his family; especially his grandchildren. Wilton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three sons, Wade Vidos and companion Lisa Willis of Morgan City, Carl Vidos and wife Deborah of Broussard, and Gary Vidos and companion Mary Jones of Morgan City; two daughters, Gayle Lavergne and husband Paul of Bayou Vista, and Karen Womack and husband Raymond of Morgan City; two brothers, Johnny Vidos of Ricohoc and Tracy Vidos of Patterson; a sister, Ann Aucoin of Berwick; seven grandchildren, Ronnie Toups, Callie Lavergne, Mattie Fontenot, Mallory Fontenot, Jeffrey Vidos, Jennifer Moncrief and Makenzie Ashmore; and four great-grandchildren, Abbie Toups, Parker Pisani, Paislee Toups and Bodhi Moncrief.
Wilton was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Hilda Theresa Verret Vidos; and his parents, John Joseph Vidos and Elda Rhodes Vidos Reemes.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Twin City Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Twin City Funeral Home beginning at 1 p.m. Wilton will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery following services.
