Berwick defeats Kaplan, 64-55

The Berwick Panthers knocked off the Kaplan Pirates, 64-55, in District 8-3A action in Berwick Tuesday.
Berwick outscored Kaplan in three of the four quarters, taking an 18-8 lead after a quarter, a 34-21 lead at halftime and a 47-26 lead after three quarters.
Travis Whitehead led Berwick with 24 points, while Larenz Clark and Josh Carver each scored 15 points. Other Berwick scorers included Donald Tillman, six; and Cody Roberie, four.
Berwick (18-11 overall, 7-3 in district) won’t return to action until Tuesday when it hosts E.D. White in district play.

Vermilion Catholic
Central Catholic routed Vermilion Catholic, 78-49, in District 7-1A action in Morgan City Tuesday.
Elijah Swan led Central Catholic with 16 points, while Ja’len Johnson scored 14. Samarick Paul, Blake Byrne and Brooks Thomas each had 11 points for the Eagles.
Central Catholic (11-9, 6-5) will return to action Friday when it hosts Hanson in District 7-1A action. Varsity play is set to begin at approximately 6:15 p.m.
Morgan City eases by South Terrebonne
The Morgan City Tigers eased by South Terrebonne, 73-28, in District 7-4A action in Bourg Tuesday.
Morgan City outscored South Terrebonne in every quarter, taking a 19-4 lead after a period of play, a 23-6 halftime advantage and a 37-19 lead after three quarters.
The Tigers connected on seven three-pointers and had four players reach double figures in scoring. Ke’Sean Francois and Morrquise Charles led Morgan City with 12 points apiece, while Devonta Grogan and Taaj Daniels each scored 10. Other Morgan City scorers included Deondre Grogan and DeAndre Long, seven apiece; Kerwin Francois, five; Jared Singleton and Ronnell Williams, four each; and Makye Richard, two.
Morgan City (16-8, 6-2) will return to action Friday when it hosts Vandebilt Catholic in district play.
Patterson falls to
E.D. White in OT
The Patterson High School Lumberjack fell to E.D. White, 63-61, in overtime in Thibodaux Tuesday in District 8-3A action.
The loss was the Lumberjacks’ first this season in district and also snapped a 27-game district winning streak dating back to the 2015 season.
No individual Patterson stats were available
Patterson (13-9, 8-1) will return to action Friday when it hosts Erath in league play.
