Berwick High falls to Vandebilt

Berwick High School fell to Vandebilt Catholic 3-0 (5-17, 25-9, 25-20) in District 6-III action Tuesday in Berwick.
Mary Jordan Melancon and Ashton Morales led Berwick. Melancon had one ace, two kills, eight assists and 11 digs, while Morales had five kills, two blocks, one assist and 10 digs.
Other top contributors included Brittany Roberie, 14 digs; Sydney Aucoin, seven kills and seven digs; Alyssa Gray, two aces, one kill and eight digs; and Emma Hover, seven digs.
Vandebilt Catholic entered the game ranked No. 6 in Division III in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association power rankings, while Berwick is No. 16.
In junior varsity action, Berwick won 2-1 (25-22, 19-25, 15-11).
Berwick had eight aces and 27 kills in the win.
Hannah Henry and Macy Broussard led the squad. Henry had one ace, four kills, eight assists and 16 digs, while Broussard had two aces, one kill and 14 digs.
Other top contributors included Morgan Toups, seven kills, two blocks and two digs; Lauren Skinner, seven kills and one dig; Abbie Dugas, one ace, 10 assists and six digs; Mary Grace Theriot, three aces and six digs; and Leah Domangue, one ace and seven digs.
In freshmen action, Vandebilt Catholic beat Berwick 2-1 (25-23, 17-25, 13-15).
Berwick (12-16 overall, 3-3 in district) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face Franklin in district play.
Patterson falls to Notre Dame
The Patterson Lumberjills fell at home to Notre Dame 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-10) in District 2-IV action Tuesday.
No individual stats were available this morning.
Notre Dame entered the contest ranked No. 3 in Division IV, while Patterson is ranked No. 20.
Patterson (7-17, 1-5) will return to action today when it travels to face Catholic High-New Iberia in district action.
Central Catholic falls to Houma Christian
Central Catholic fell to Houma Christian 3-1 (23-25, 27-25, 16-25, 11-25) in District 6-V action on the road Tuesday.
Quincee Wiggins and Hallie Autin led the Lady Eagles. Wiggins had 11 kills and 14 digs, while Autin had 14 kills.
Other top contributors included Katie Hoffpauir, 18 assists and two aces; and Yani Johnson, four kills and two blocks.
Central Catholic (15-20, 2-2) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Covenant Christian in district play. The varsity-only event will begin at 3 p.m.
