Berwick, Morgan City win Friday night games

Berwick and Morgan City High schools each won their homecoming contests Friday to highlight area prep football action.
Berwick improved to 4-0 after scoring with less than a minute remaining to defeat Franklin, while Morgan City upped its record to 3-1 after defeating Cohen College Prep, 29-0.
In the area's third game of the night, Patterson dropped a heartbreaker to Ellender, 28-26. The Lumberjacks slipped to 0-4 with the loss.
Central Catholic fell to Lafayette Christian, 46-42, in other week 4 action played Thursday. The Eagles now are 1-3 four weeks into the season.
Week 5 will feature three of four teams in district play.
Central Catholic will start the week off with a Thursday night contest at home against Centerville in District 7-1A action.
On Friday, Berwick will hit the road for the first time this season when it travels to face Erath in District 8-3A action, while Patterson will travel to face Kaplan in Patterson's District 8-3A opener.
The lone nondistrict game of the week will feature Morgan City hosting Westminster.
