Berwick Panthers rout Kaplan Pirates 75-41

The Berwick Panthers rebounded from a loss to Patterson Tuesday with a 75-41 victory against Kaplan Friday in District 8-3A action in Berwick.
Audwin Williams and Larenz Clark led Berwick with 17 points apiece.
Other scorers included Travis Whitehead, eight; Cody Roberie, Tysin Meads and Donald Tillman, seven points apiece; and Josh Carver, six.
Berwick (14-9 overall, 3-1 in district) won’t return to action until Friday when it hosts E.D. White in a 7:45 p.m. contest.
Patterson edges

A dunk by senior Kenneth Washington off an assist by fellow senior Taylan Grogan proved to be the difference as the Patterson Lumberjacks defeated E.D. White, 34-32, in District 8-3A action in Thibodaux Friday.
Washington led Patterson with 16 points.
Patterson led 9-7 after the first quarter, 19-12 at the half, and 25-23 after three quarters.
Other Patterson scorers included Nehemiah Augustus, six; and D.J. Jones and Taylan Grogan, five points apiece.
Patterson (12-4, 3-0) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Erath in District 8-3A action. The boys’ varsity contest is set to begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.
South Lafourche edges Morgan City
South Lafourche edged Morgan City, 58-54, in District 7-4A action in Galliano Friday.
Morgan City was plagued by foul trouble as four Tigers fouled out and South Lafourche shot 30-44 from the free throw line.
Meanwhile, the Tarpons managed to avoid any players fouling out, while Morgan City shot 10 of 19 from the line.
Morgan City led 10-9 after a quarter, while South Lafourche took a 20-16 lead into halftime.
Morgan City regained the lead, 33-32, after three quarters.
Makye Richard led Morgan City with 20 points.
Other scorers included Ke’sean Francois and Jared Singleton with eight points apiece; Lloyd Singleton, seven; Tywan Walker, six; and Taaj Daniels, five.
Morgan City (11-10 overall, 0-1) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Ellender in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
