CCHS Eagles place 5 on first team

Central Catholic had five representatives on the All-District 7-1A baseball first team.
The Eagles had a pair of pitchers make the team in sophomores Blake Hidalgo and Gregory Leger. Hidalgo finished the season 3-0, while Leger was 2-1.
Central Catholic senior catcher Matthew Barbier made the squad. He finished his senior district season with
a 0.333 batting average.
Junior shortstop Samuel Guarisco and junior outfielder Stefano Guarisco each made the first team and both batted over .400. Samuel Guarisco finished the district season with a .465 average, while Stefano Guarisco batted .405.
The Eagles had four second-team selections: first baseman Mitchel Lemoine, third baseman T.J. Ruffin, outfielder Patrick Barron and utility selection Thomas Garber.
Three Eagles were named honorable mention as Charlie Barron, Charlie Solar and Tony Pennison each picked up the honor.
The Eagles finished as District 7-1A runner-up with a 10-1 mark.
District 7-1A champion Hanson Memorial swept the individual honors. Senior outfielder Cameron Stovall, who batted .535, was named the district’s Most Valuable Player.
Hanson head coach Ryan Stoute, whose team finished district with an 11-0 mark, was named Coach of the Year.
