CCHS slips a spot in final prep poll

Central Catholic slipped a spot in the final Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A prep football poll after falling in Week 10 to Ascension Episcopal, 42-41, Friday.
Central Catholic (6-4) is ranked No. 10 this week and received 34 points.
Ascension Episcopal remained ranked No. 3 in Class 1A and received 109 points.
Central Catholic’s first-round opponent, Lafayette Christian, is ranked No. 8 in this week’s poll. The Knights moved up a spot after routing Vermilion Catholic in their regular season finale. Lafayette Christian (7-3) received 45 points.
Haynesville (10-0) remained ranked No. 1 in Class 1A with 131 points and 10 first-place votes.
In Class 3A, Patterson’s and Berwick’s District 8-3A foe, Kaplan, moved up a spot to No. 4 in the latest rankings. The Pirates (10-0) received 97 points.
Also, Patterson’s first-round opponent, Marksville, is ranked No. 7 in Class 3A. Marksville (9-1) received 64 points.
In Class 4A, Morgan City’s District 7-4A foe, Vandebilt Catholic, received four votes this week.
