Central Catholic, Patterson are Week 9 winners

Central Catholic and Patterson were the area's Week 9 winners on the football field.
Central Catholic defeated Metairie Park Country Day, 34-21, in a battle of Top 10 teams in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division IV (Class 1A select) power rankings. The Eagles entered the game ranked No. 3, while Country Day was No. 7. Country Day also was ranked No. 7 in the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll, while the Eagles were unranked.
In Berwick, Patterson picked up a 61-21 victory against Berwick in a District 9-3A contest. The win clinched at least a share of the District 9-3A title for Patterson, who can claim the crown outright next week with a win at Franklin.
Meanwhile in Houma, Morgan City High School fell to Vandebilt Catholic, 55-26, in a District 7-4A contest.
