Ellender edges past Morgan City

Ellender topped Morgan City in District 7-4A action in Morgan City Tuesday, 56-50.
The Patriots led Morgan City 12-11 after a quarter and 27-18 at the half.
Morgan City cut its deficit to 37-32 after three quarters and actually had it to a one-point game at 46-45 with less than four minutes remaining, but Ellender was able to pull away for the victory.
Tywan Walker led Morgan City with 12 points, while Makye Richard scored 11 and Ke’sean Francois added 10.
Other scorers included Taaj Daniels, eight; Lloyd Singleton, four; Abram Hartley, three; and Jared Singleton, two.
Morgan City (11-11 overall, 0-2 in district) will return to action Friday when it travels to face South Terrebonne in Bourg in District 7-4A play.
Patterson routs Erath
Patterson outscored Erath in every quarter en route to an easy 70-33 victory in District 8-3A high school boys basketball action at Patterson High Tuesday.
Patterson led 16-9 after the first period, 39-16 at the half and 51-26 after three quarters.
Taylan Grogan led three Lumberjacks in double figures with 23 points. Nehemiah Augustus scored 12 and Kenneth Washington, 10.
Other scorers included D.J. Jones, nine; Dajon Richard, seven; Drew Lucas, five; and Kobe Gray, four.
Patterson (13-4, 4-0) will return to action Friday when it hosts North Vermilion in another District 8-3A contest.
