Hidalgo bowls 300 as MCHS beats Ellender

The Morgan City High School Tigers defeated Ellender 17-10 on the opening day of boys high school bowling action Wednesday at Bowl South in Houma.
Morgan City was led by Jayson Hidalgo’s 300 game that he bowled in the final game of the match.
Other top contributors for Morgan City included Hau Vo, who had a 212 game and a 502 series; and Jason Myers, who bowled a 179.
Morgan City (1-0) will return to action Monday when it faces Vandebilt Catholic at 3:40 p.m. at Charlie’s Lanes.
Berwick boys fall to
Central Lafourche
Central Lafourche edged Berwick, 14-13, in boys bowling action Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Mark Lemoine led Berwick with a 624 series (200, 209, 215), while Abram Gilder had a 548 series, including games of 222 and 169.
Other top contributors included Aaron Barrilleaux (184, 204) 528 series, Brandon Lemoine (183, 170), Chris Beltran (166, 192) and Lucas Landry (174).
Berwick (0-1) will return to action Monday when it travels to face South Terrebonne in a 3:40 p.m. contest at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Morgan City girls fall
to Ellender
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Ellender 21-6 in bowling action at Bowl South in Houma Wednesday.
Hannah Pipes led Morgan City with a 537 series (193, 154, 190), while Meghan Amador had a 479 series (159, 172).
Allie Tregle added a 442 series (159).
Ellender was a state semifinalist a year ago.
Morgan City (0-1) will return to action Monday when it hosts Vandebilt Catholic in a 3:40 p.m. contest at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City. Vandebilt Catholic was state runner-up on the girls’ side a year ago.
CCHS falls to
South Terrebonne
Central Catholic fell 20-7 to South Terrebonne in high school bowling action at Creole Lanes in Houma Wednesday.
Josh Abney led Central Catholic with a 536 series (203, 153, 180).
Other top contributors included Liam McCloy (226), Emily Price (160) and Dave Laubach (160).
Central Catholic (0-1) will return to action Monday when it faces Thibodaux in a 3:40 p.m. contest at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Berwick girls fall
to Central Lafourche
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to Central Lafourche, 25-2, in bowling action at Charlie’s Lanes Wednesday.
Shannon Derise led Berwick with a 413 series, while Haidyn Derise bowled a 164.
Berwick (0-1) will return to action Monday when it travels to face South Terrebonne in a 3:40 p.m. contest at Creole Lanes in Houma.
