Lady Tigers net extra-inning win

MORGAN CITY — The Morgan City Lady Tigers plated a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat South Terrebonne 3-2 in District 7-4A action Thursday.
The Lady Tigers plated two runs in the third inning and South Terrebonne tied the game in the top of the sixth at 2.
Tyler Hebert earned the win. In nine innings, she surrendered two earned runs on four hits, hit two batters, walked three and fanned 15.
Offensively, Morgan City outhit South Terrebonne 11-4.
Brandi Ingram led Morgan City with a 2-for-5 performance with a double, a run and two stolen bases, while Taylor Prince was 2-for-5 with a run and a stolen base. Other top contributors included Tyler Hebert, 2-for-5; Dwanna LeBeau, 2-for-4; Morgan Comeaux, 1-for-1, an RBI; and Hannah Falgout, 1-for-5, an RBI.
Morgan City (14-9 overall, 4-2 in district) will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face Vandebilt Catholic in District 7-4A action. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
CCHS routs Highland Baptist
CCHS used two big innings to put away Highland Baptist in a run-rule win in five innings Thursday.
CCHS plated 13 combined runs in the first and fourth innings and added another in the second.
Megan Landry earned the win for Central Catholic with a no-hitter. In five innings, she recorded 14 of the game’s 15 outs via strikeouts.
Offensively, Kimberly Russo led the Lady Eagles with a 3-for-3 performance with two stolen bases and a run, while Gee Garrett was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, three stolen bases and two runs. Other top contributors include Bridgette Swan, 2-for-3, two RBIs and two runs; Jena Teachman, 1-for-1, a double, two RBIs and a run; Alli Comeaux, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; Brittany Longman, 1-for-3, two RBIs; and Brooke Lipari, two RBIs and a run.
Because officials from the E.D. White-Patterson softball game also had to call Central Catholic’s contest, Central Catholic’s game started approximately 40 minutes late.
Central Catholic (20-3 overall, 9-0 in action) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Hanson in a District 7-1A contest at 5 p.m.
Berwick falls to Ellender
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to Ellender Memorial 4-1 on the road Thursday.
No individual statistics were available.
Berwick (10-18 overall) will return to action Tuesday at 4 p.m. when it hosts Patterson in District 9-3A action.
Patterson falls to E.D. White
The Patterson Lumberjills fell at home to E.D. White Thursday, 12-4, in District 9-3A action.
Taylor Hall suffered the loss for the Lumberjills.
No other stats were available.
Patterson (12-6, 4-3) will return to action Monday when travels to face H.L. Bourgeois in a 4 p.m. contest.
