The Berwick Lady Panthers (8-3A) was overpowered by the H.L Bourgeois Lady Braves (7-5A) 31-49 during basketball action Tuesday night in Berwick. Central Catholic Eagles (7-1A) were victors Tuesday night at home against the Teurlings Catholic (4-4A) Rebels 65-47. Morgan City Tigers' (7-4A) basketball team was on the road Tuesday to face the Plaquemine Green Devils (6-4A), taking a loss, 57-64.
Senior Jordan Lipari led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 17 hitting three, three-point shots. Also scoring for Berwick were senior Mary Jordan Melancon with six points from two three-point shots, and junior Alira Clark and sophomore Madison Carline added two points each.
The Lady Panthers’ schedule shows the team in action Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against the Central Catholic Lady Eagles in Morgan City.
Leading the Tigers in scoring was senior Makye Richard and sophomore Deondre Grogan with 12 each, and junior Ke’Sean Francois and sophomore Jared Singleton each added 11. Also contributing on the backboard were juniors Tywuan Walker with seven points and Taaj Daniels with four.
Morgan City’s home game for Friday against Franklin has been canceled.
There were no individual statistics available for the Eagles’ Tuesday game as of press time.
