MCHS falls in five games

Morgan City High School fell to Ascension Catholic Thursday in five games.
While the Lady Tigers took game 1, 25-20, they fell in game 2, 21-25, and game 3, 27-29.
Morgan City rebounded with a 25-18 win in game 4 to set up a deciding game 5.
Ascension Catholic took the final game, 15-10.
Morgan City had 8 aces, 45 kills, 39 assists and 106 digs in the loss.
Kennedy Hebert, Alex Thompson and Abby Reynaud led the Lady Tigers. Hebert had 16 kills, 3 blocks and 16 digs. Thompson recorded 13 kills, 2 assists and 3 digs, while Reynaud had 2 aces, 4 kills, 1 block, 17 assists and 14 digs.
Other top offensive contributors included Katelyn Gautreaux, 25 digs; Dwanna LeBeau, 2 aces, 6 kills and 11 digs; Allie Vincent, 19 assists and 5 digs; Brandi Albarado, 3 aces and 18 digs; Cecily Feliciano, 3 kills and 7 digs; and Paige Loftin, 3 kills, 1 assist and 5 digs.
In junior varsity action, Morgan City won 2-1 (17-25, 25-21, 15-6).
Sh’Diamond Holly and Allie Vincent led the Lady Tigers. Holly had 5 kills and 5 blocks, while Vincent had 1 ace, 6 assists and 5 digs.
Other top contributors included McKenzi Smith, 4 kills and 7 digs; Scottie Metrejean, 2 kills, 1 assist and 5 digs; Reynaud, 6 assists and 1 dig; and Hallie Blanchard and Hannah Gros, each 1 ace and 6 digs.
In freshman action, Morgan City won 2-0 (25-21, 25-12).
Nia Lightfoot led the squad with 7 kills and 2 digs, while Karmen Peterson had 3 aces, 2 blocks and 7 digs.
Other top contributors included Jolee Nini, 1 ace, 7 assists and 4 digs; and Blanchard, 2 kills and 7 digs.
Morgan City High School (6-10) will return to action Saturday when it participates in Archbishop Hannan’s tournament. The Lady Tigers will face McGehee at 9 a.m., Mandeville at 10 a.m. and Dunham at 1 p.m.
Vandebilt Catholic
sweeps Berwick
Vandebilt Catholic defeated Berwick 3-0 in District 8-III action in Houma Thursday.
Vandebilt took the games 25-22, 25-13, 25-8.
No individual statistics were available for Berwick.
The Lady Panthers (8-9 overall, 1-1 in district) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Franklin in District 8-III action.
Patterson falls
to Notre Dame
Division IV power Notre Dame defeated Patterson 3-0 (25-1, 25-8, 25-10) in Crowley Thursday.
No individual statistics were available for Patterson.
The Lumberjills (5-10 overall, 0-2 in district) will return to the court Tuesday when it hosts Catholic High-New Iberia in district play.
CCHS returns to action
Central Catholic (10-13) will return to the court Saturday when it participates in Archbishop Hannan’s tournament. The Lady Eagles will face Northlake Christian at 8 a.m., Fountainbleau at 10 a.m., Ursuline Academy at noon and St. Martin at 2 p.m.
