MCHS football coach Tregle resigns post
Morgan City High School’s Scott Tregle resigned as head football coach and athletic director Thursday after three years of service.
Tregle made the announcement in an emailed statement to news media.
The Morgan City alum compiled a 9-21 mark in three seasons as the Tigers head coach, including a 3-7 mark this year.
His best season was his second in 2015 when the Tigers finished 4-6. During that season, the Tigers started the year 4-0.
In his announcement, Tregle thanked Morgan City High School Principal Mickey Fabre, St. Mary Parish Superintendent Lenny Armato and parish Athletic Director Mike Ortiz for their support.
“We have a great group of returning players that work hard and have great character,” he wrote. “I also would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the football program. I would like to thank all of my co-workers who have supported me for the last three years. You were truly a blessing. I wish nothing but the best for the great student body, faculty and staff at MCHS. Go Tigers and God Bless!!!”
Tregle said he intended to remain on faculty as a health and physical education teacher until the conclusion of the school year.
