MCHS Lady Tigers fall to Riverside, 41-37

The Morgan City High School Lady Tigers fell to Riverside, 41-37, on the road Tuesday.
Alisha Singleton led Morgan City with 20 points. Other scorers included Hailey Lewis and Sh’Diamond Holly, four points apiece; Deryon Johnson, three; and Twanna LeBeau, Nia Lightfoot and Indeara Chenevert with two points each.
Friday, Morgan City defeated Teurlings, 45-41, in Morgan City.
Singleton led Morgan City with 16 points, while Holly had 12. Other scorers included Lewis, six; Lightfoot, four; Courtney Welsh, three; and Johnson and Chenevert, two each.
Morgan City (4-4) won’t return to action until Jan. 3, when it hosts Plaquemine in a 6 p.m. contest.
North Vermilion
routs Berwick
The Berwick Panthers fell to North Vermilion, 54-6, in District 8-3A action in Maurice Tuesday.

The Berwick Panthers improved to 9-6 this season with a 63-43 victory against Jeanerette in nondistrict action on the road Tuesday.

CCHS falls to
Central Lafourche
Central Catholic fell 66-50 to Central Lafourche on the road Tuesday.
No individual stats were submitted.
Central Catholic (3-3) won’t return to action until Dec. 28 when it opens play in E.D. White’s tournament against South Terrebonne in a 1 p.m. contest.
Lumberjacks beat
Jeanerette
The Patterson Lumberjacks defeated Lafayette High, 52-50, in its final game of its Lumberjack Invitational Saturday.
Patterson overcame a 20-5 first-quarter deficit, chipping away during the final three quarters, including a 19-9 fourth-quarter scoring advantage that gave the team the win.
Patterson trailed 36-22 at halftime and 41-31 after three quarters.
Jordan Butler led Patterson with 13 points, while Elijah Williams also reached double figures with 12. Other scorers included Dajon Richard and Drew Lucas, seven each; Kai Schexnayder, five; Tyric Garrett, three; John Brooks and Khyri Harris, two points apiece; and James Butler, one.
Patterson head basketball coach Ryan Taylor thanked Advance Physical Therapy for its support of the Lumberjack basketball program.
“I would also like to thank all of the teams who participated in this year’s tournament and made the event successful and enjoyable to all of the fans,” Taylor said.
Patterson (4-3) will return to action Wednesday when it travels to face Bunkie at 6 p.m.
