MCHS routs South Terrebonne, 86-46

Morgan City outscored South Terrebonne in every quarter en route to a 86-46 victory in District 7-4A action in Morgan City Friday.
The Tigers outscored the Gators 18-6 in the first quarter and took a 45-26 lead at halftime. Morgan City extended its lead to 71-33 after three quarters.
Tywaun Walker and Deondre Grogan led Morgan City with 14 points apiece, while Taaj Daniels also reached double figures with 13 points. Other Morgan City scorers included Ke’Sean Francois and Makye Richard, nine each; Ronnell Williams, eight; Morrquise Charles, six; Kerwin Francois, five; Jared Singleton, three; and DeAndre Long and Devonta Grogan, two points each.
Patterson defeats
North Vermilion
The Patterson High School Lumberjacks used a huge third-quarter surge to defeat North Vermilion, 57-51.
Trailing 26-23 coming out of halftime, Patterson outscored North Vermilion, 18-4, in the period for a 44-30 lead after three quarters.
While North Vermilion outscored Patterson, 21-16, in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough for the win.
North Vermilion took a 10-8 lead after a quarter and outscored Patterson, 16-15, in the second period.
Tyric Garrett led Patterson with 18 points, while Jordan Butler also reached double figures with 16 points. Other Patterson scorers included Dajon Richard, seven; John Brooks, Khyri Harris, Drew Lucas and James Butler, three points apiece; and Kai Schexnayder and Elijah Williams, two points each.
CCHS rolls
past Gueydan
Central Catholic defeated Gueydan, 84-32, in District 7-1A action in Morgan City Friday.
Central Catholic led 21-2 after a quarter, 47-15 at halftime and 65-27 after three quarters.
Elijah Swan led Central Catholic with 21 points, while Ja’len Johnson and Brooks Thomas also reached double figures with 18 and 13 points, respectively. Other Central Catholic scorers included Samarick Paul, nine; D.J. Lewis, eight; Seth Williams, five; Blake Byrne and Michael-Anthony Hill, four, each; and Taylor Blanchard, two.
Berwick falls
to E.D. White
The Berwick Panthers fell in District 8-3A action at E.D. White Friday, 49-44.
While Berwick led 10-8 after a quarter, E.D. White outscored them 19-12 in the second quarter for a 27-22 halftime lead. Berwick outscored E.D. White 11-10 in the third quarter but still trailed 37-33 after three quarters.
No individual stats were available for Berwick.

Gueydan defeated Central Catholic, 62-38, in District 7-1A girls basketball action in Morgan City Friday.
